Audio-Technica Microphones on Eagles' Timothy B. Schmit Solo Album Feed The Fire
The Eagles' Timothy B. Schmit recently completed his latest solo album, Feed The Fire, which featured extensive use of the AT4060 Cardioid Vacuum Tube Capacitor Microphone. Hank Linderman, known for his work with America, Alsou and Honeyz, was engineer/guitarist as well as mixer on the album. Linderman chose the AT4060 for its unique ability to capture Timothy's signature vocal style.
"The AT4060 has a warm, rich quality that worked perfectly with Timothy's vocals throughout the recording of Feed The Fire," stated Linderman. "After extensive evaluation of other competitive microphones on the market, as well as encouragement from engineer Rob Jacobs who used the AT4060 during the recording sessions of fellow Eagle Don Henley's record, Inside Job, the AT4060 was the obvious choice. The AT4060 has a smooth, natural sound - you don't need to add any EQ. I just put the 4060 up and let Timothy do his thing."
In addition, Linderman used Audio-Technica AT4050's on drum and percussion overheads, and AT4041's for hi-hat and acoustic guitar.
