Logic Audio Windows to be discontinued, a blow for Logic Windows users
With the Apple announcement that it has acquired Emagic comes a blow for Windows users of Logic Audio. Emagic will operate as a wholly owned division of Apple. Macintosh-based products account for over 65 percent of Emagic's current revenues. Since over 200.000 musicians, producers and DJs use Logic Audio over 90.000 will be directly affected. For years Windows users have complained about the Mac biased atmosphere. Emagic has always promised to bring the windows version to the same level.
This announcement comes a few months after the expensive 5.0 upgrade for both macintosh and windows which finally brought both versions to the same level.
Emagic's Windows-based product offerings will be discontinued on September 30, 2002. Hopefully other developers on the windows platform like Steinberg and Cakewalk will have special offers.
