New Pro Tools FREE 5.01 Software for Mac and Windows Available SoonLos Angeles, CA Digidesign today announced the release of Pro Tools FREE. The powerful audio recording, editing and mixing software used by more industry professionals than any other platform will be available as a free download or CD-ROM from Digidesigns website www.digidesign.com. Pro Tools FREE for Mac OS and Windows 98, is a fully functional version of Pro Tools 5.0.1 LE with 8-channel audio support and 48 MIDI track capability, requiring no additional hardware. Pro Tools FREE is hardware independent, but offers standard Windows 98 Wave Drivers or Apple Macintosh Sound Manager support. Pro Tools FREE can be configured to use up to two channels of I/O on third party hardware, including many common PC soundcards and standard chip sets.Digidesign Pro Tools FREE software is a great starting point for music, education, multimedia, film, video or radio production. First time users will be able to step into the non-linear, instant access recording, editing and mixing of Digidesigns Pro Tools.
