Roland names AKG Acoustics as reference standard for COSM microphone modeling
Roland is proud to announce a new relationship with microphone manufacturer AKG Acoustics.Under this agreement,AKG condenser microphones will be supported as a reference standard for COSM Microphone Modeling, found in many Roland digital recording and mixing products. The first microphone to be supported is the AKG C 3000B.This popular condenser mic will be featured as an input choice in the new VS-2480,and is the recommended condenser microphone for use with COSM Microphone Modeling.Future software updates will allow other V-Studio and V-Mixing products to take advantage of this new microphone choice.
COSM Microphone Modeling is a proprietary Roland technology which allows users to model the characteristics of a variety of microphones from expensive German microphones to common dynamic mics.In order for these models to work,a “reference standard ” microphone designated by Roland must be used..Using a designated reference microphone ensures that the resulting recordings will accurately represent the sound characteristics of the modeled microphone. Under an agreement with AKG Acoustics,Roland will develop new mic modeling software using AKG microphones as the reference standard. The first such microphone to be supported is the AKG C 3000B,a “true ” large diaphragm mic with cardioid pattern for both vocal and instrumental applications. The C 3000B can be used in the studio or on stage, for mic ’ing anything from vocals to guitar amps and drums.
While the C 3000B is presently compatible with the COSM Microphone Modeling found on the new VS-2480 24-track Digital Studio Workstation, future software updateswill make this microphone function as a reference standard when used with other V-Studio and V-Mixing products.

I like the C3000 AKG microphone. Is there a USB-version mic with the same quality as the '3000' Regards, Jo Direct |
