Shure Microphones Signs Babyface Velvet Revolver Trace Adkins Faith Evans and Anthrax
Shure announced that legendary R&B performer and producer Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds, the hard rock super group Velvet Revolver, and several other artists and bands like Trace Adkins, Faith Evans and Anthrax have signed as official endorsers.
"Right now, the wide range of artists signing on with us as endorsers is extremely diverse," Shure Artist Relations Manager Tom Krajecki says. "We're excited to have all of these talented performers on board and appreciate their support."
Trace Adkins has joined the multifarious fold, bringing all 6' 6" of his down-home frame into the spotlight each night along with a U24D/Beta 58A UHF wireless system and PSM700 personal monitoring.
"If it ain't broke don't fix it--I'm not changing now," Adkins says, his indomitable baritone adding extra emphasis to his level of commitment. "I've used Shure exclusively for years now, I've never bought anything else. Coming up in honky-tonks, SM57s and SM58s, those were the mics. No one I knew of or worked with hardly used anything else. They are just so dependable. We'd use those mics til they were skinned raw, and the sound coming out of them was always like when they first came out of the box new."
True pioneers of the American metal scene still slashing and burning across the musical landscape, Anthrax tours with U24D/Beta 87A wireless, PSM700 monitors, and KSM137s on guitar cabinets. Meanwhile, with self-crowned First Lady of hip hop and R&B Faith Evans taking to the stage with U24D/58 wireless, Velvet Revolver shoots fast and straight with front man Scott Weiland on U24D/Beta 58A wireless and U14D wireless on bass and guitar. As heard on her album Tambourine, North Carolina-bred Tift Merritt sings with gritty defiance, combining energetic roots rock with Muscle Shoals soulfulness and a tinch of country.
