The ST AUDIO Digital Modulator III is high end synchronizer unit for use with the ST AUDIO Audio DSP 24 or Audio DSP MKII PCI recording card. It was designed primarily for studio users who need to interface 4 discreet stereo digital signals in S/PDIF(Optical & Coaxial) or AES/EBU(XLR) format between external devices and their PC.
One of the features of the Digital Modulator III is that it can accept multiple sample rates on the fly!! For example, this means it is possble to connect one device which is 96Khz and another at 44.1kHz at the same time!! The Digital Modulator III will sample rate convert all digital input signals real-time to the setting you have configured in your PC hardware setup.

The Digital Modulator III provides AES/EBU, Optical and Coaxial formats. Connection is very simple, just connect the 44 pin D-sub cable between the Audio DSP 24 (and MKII) and the 44 pin port of the Modulator box.
Up to 4 x Audio DSP 24 (and MKII) cards can be installed in a single system. If need be, it is possible with the use of 4 x Digital Modulator III's to achieve 40 channels of digital S/PDIF(Optical & Coaxial) and AES/EBU(XLR) I/O!! All accepted real-time at multiple sample rates on the same PC!
