Steinberg AMD partner for Cubase VST 5.0 R5
Steinberg Media Technologies AG, Hamburg, is to optimize its software for use with AMD Athlon™ processors. Cubase VST 5.0 R5, the first product version to be specially adapted to Athlon processors, was released in June. Other Steinberg software products will also include Athlon optimizations in their respective update releases. Steinberg has been tailoring its software to Intel Pentium™ processors since 1999, making the AMD Athlon processor the second CPU type for which Steinberg products are optimized.

The optimization for Athlon processors marks the beginning of a strategic partnership between Steinberg Media Technologies and AMD, Inc. As well as the collaboration in research and development, the two companies are also to cooperate in their distribution and marketing activities.
