Steinberg Nuendo 1.6 192 kHz VST System Link AES 31 full screen VideoSteinberg Nuendo 1.6 192 kHz VST System Link full screen VideoSteinberg presents Nuendo 1.6, the latest version of Steinberg’s Nuendo Media Production System. As well as offering new features, Nuendo 1.6 also includes many enhancements. Steinberg’s professional media production software is the Hamburg-based software manufacturer’s flagship product, with the latest 1.6 version boasting features such as VST System Link, AES 31 import and export and 192 kHz support, as well as many other improvements. The new features: VST System Link - The Intelligent Network Using only a standard digital audio connection, multiple computers can be networked with each other, putting the system’s total CPU and processing power at the users’ disposal. Not only can 16 MIDI ports be set up, each with 16 channels, but audio data and transport commands can also be sent to another computer with VST System Link. Because the data is transferred using the platform-independent ASIO protocol, VST System Link can be used with Windows and Macintosh operating systems simultaneously. Desktop and laptop computers can be combined to form one larger production system, regardless of whether Nuendo, Cubase SX or Cubase VST is running on the computers being used. AES 31 Import and Export Nuendo 1.6 offers the option to import and export AES 31 EDLs, enabling projects created in Nuendo to be transferred to other systems such as Euphonix, Fairlight or SadiE. The AES 31 import function allows projects from these systems to be transferred to Nuendo for further work. 192 kHz Support Also supported in Nuendo 1.6 is the use of audio cards with a sample rate of 192 kHz, enabling the import and export of audio data in DVD-A mastering quality. Some manufacturers already offer audio cards with 192 kHz and full ASIO 2.0 support, which are fast becoming standard for professional applications. Full Screen Video (PC Version) Nuendo 1.6 now offers video playback in full screen mode in conjunction with standard graphics cards. Switching from window to full screen mode is as simple as clicking on the QuickTime or DirectShow video player being used. This function really comes into its own when used with two monitors.
