Yamaha MV12/6 Rack Mount Mixer Goes Anywhere—Feature-Packed, Flexible Unit Great for the Studio or Road—ANAHEIM, CA—Yamaha Professional Audio has met the need for a high performance analog rack mount mixer with its new, 7-space MV12/6. Ideal for project and professional studios, small PA systems and touring applications as an input expander or submixer, the unit's rotatable connector panel (facing the top or rear of the mixer) allows it to be installed in locations that would be impossible to accommodate a standard mixer. {2009.jpgc Yamaha MV12/6 Rack Mount Mixer "The Yamaha MV12/6 really packs a ton of features into a very convenient package," states Wayne Hrabak, marketing manager, Professional Audio. "This product not only sounds great, but is also easy to install." The unit features eight mic/line mono inputs and two stereo channels. Each mono channel contains a balanced XLR-type input connector (paralleled with a Euro Block). Channels 1-4 contain balanced insert I/O with TRS 1/4-in. jacks for effects patching; channels 1-8 also contain individual +48V phantom power switches. Channels 9/10 and 11/12 are stereo input channels with both RCA and Euro Block connectors. All channels feature a channel fader, 3-band EQ (High, Mid, Low), two auxiliary sends (AUX 2 is switchable between pre- and post-fader modes), effect send and bus switches (for routing to group 1/2, group 3/4 and stereo outputs). Other channel features include a 44 dB gain trim, peak indicator and pan pot. {2010.jpgc Yamaha MV12/6 Rack Mount Mixer (rear) Signal from the 12 channel inputs may be routed to any of the four group or stereo busses for a maximum of six independent outputs. Group 1/2 and 3/4 busses contain TO ST switches which route the signal to the stereo bus. The MV12/6 offers a total of 16 built-in digital effects, including Yamaha's acclaimed reverb technology. The selected effect may be applied to the stereo out signal or group 1/2 and 3/4 signals; the stereo out signal may be further processed with the built-in 7-band graphic equalizer. "The MV12/6 is ideal for anyone who needs excellent sound in a rack system," adds John Schauer, product manager, Professional Audio. "It performs like a large console, yet takes up minimal space." Like the mixer's input section, the Stereo Out, Group Out 1-4 and Monitor Out all utilize Euro Block connectors for quick, easy and flexible connection. Stereo Out and Mono Out contain XLR connectors; Group Out, Aux 1/2, Effect and Return contain 1/4-in phone jacks. For recording purposes, the MV12/6 also features TAPE IN and REC OUT jacks, plus phone jacks for monitoring.
